I am an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Illustration Program at The University of the Arts. Teaching is one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life. Helping young artists develop and breathe visual life into their ideas through the art of picture making is a privilege.

I have spent the past 35 years researching and making illustration based on a broad array of subjects. My primary mediums are graphite and watercolor & color pencil. Editorial manuscripts have been the inspiration for some of my most exciting work. Assignment illustration introduces me to subjects I would not encounter without the written word as the catalyst. Texture and light are key visual elements that flow through much of my work. Changes in texture can add tremendous interest to a picture. By learning to use light effectively, even the most humble subject matter can develop the power to arrest the viewer.

Some of my clients have included
The New Yorker, The Atlantic Monthly, Harpers, The Boston Globe, The Hartford Courant, San Francisco Focus, US News and World Report, Redbook, Psychology Today, The Chicago Tribune, World Wildlife Fund, The William Penn Foundation, Cigna, INA, Glaxo Smith Kline, RCA, Scott Foresman, Southwest Publishing, Rohm And Haas, Saatchi and Saatchi, Lewis, Gilman & Kynett, Saint Joseph's University Press, The Creative Department, Allemann, Almquist & Jones, Bruno Magli.
